In 2023 for the January-June period, compiled from the official website of the KPPPA, the PPA Symphony, the most cases of violence are sexual violence, 4,875 cases of sexual violence have occurred. Then at the beginning of 2023, also in the January-February period alone, FSGI (Federation of Indonesian Teachers Unions) recorded that there were 86 children who were victims of sexual violence in the education unit. Some of the factors that influence the high incidence of sexual violence against children in Indonesia include low knowledge about sexuality and children’s rights, low public awareness about the importance of protecting children, poverty, social instability, and low access to education and adequate protection.
This program is expected to provide a strong foundation in protecting children from sexual violence and creating a safe environment for children. By involving the whole community, together we can reduce the rate of sexual violence against children and provide better protection for future generations. Through this program, we also want people to eliminate the stigma that discussions about sexual health and reproductive health are taboo. We also hope that through this program, the community will become more courageous and understand about the system and method of reporting when encountering cases of sexual violence around them, whether they occur online or offline.
